Link Insertion Strategy

How to build links using a specific keyword or anchor that appears in already-published content.

Intro

The anchor text strategy is one of the easiest and, arguably, most effective link building strategies.

Note: this strategy works particularly well if you already have some linkable content published.

The process behind it is very simple: you will be looking for non-competing articles that mention your content’s target keyword (or a similar keyword) but that are centered around a different topic.

For example, we’ve recently released a guide on content distribution, and would like to find other non-competing blog posts that have briefly mentioned the topic.

These types of articles are perfect link building prospects because adding your link to them would help cover a topic they don’t expand on.

This helps create a more informative resource, making it a win-win situation for both sides.

In-content, editorial backlinks with perfect keywords from relevant pages that also have established authority are some of the strongest backlinks you can get for SEO.

To find such specific articles, Respona will be using some advanced search operators.

Don’t worry - using our campaign template ensures that you don’t have to type them out yourself.

Then, you will be reaching out to the owners of those sites, asking them to add a link to your suggested anchor text in exchange for some kind of incentive: a social share, a link from another website, a free subscription to your tool, etc.

Discovery

Respona’s keyword search is built on various search engines and features some very useful advanced search functions. These advanced search functions perform very similarly to search operators.

As an example, let’s run a sample campaign for our Content Distribution article, which we have already secured several high-quality backlinks using this exact strategy.

2. Paste the link to the article that you’d like to promote in the first field.

3. Enter several keywords that are relevant to your content in the second field.

3. In the third field, enter your article's general category.

3. In the fourth field, describe what makes your content unique in 1-2 brief sentences. - what makes it unique and why you think your prospect should mention you.

4. In the last field, explain what incentives you can offer your prospects in return for referencing your content.

5. Click “Use this template”.

6. Review your email sequence and tailor it to your needs.

7. Сlick "Next Step" and review the automation.

8. Click "Continue" and set additional SEO filters if needed.

9. Click "Continue" again and run a simultaneous contact search to save time.

10. Run the automation. As results are found, they will start appearing on the screen.
