Intro

Infographics are very strong assets that can earn you tons of high-quality links.

However, marketers have caught on to that fact a while ago, and at this point, this strategy has been used by everyone and their grandmother.

You can use infographics to earn backlinks in two ways:

  1. By publishing the infographic on your own blog and then reaching out to blogs that have covered a similar topic but didn’t include a graphic in their post.

  2. By reaching out to popular blogs and offering to create a unique infographic for their content, also known as the guestographic.

The discovery process for both of these strategies is the same.

Discovery

  1. Publish an infographic on your site.

Note: This step is optional as you can also create an infographic after you pitch them.

  2. In Respona, search for the keyword that the infographic is about. Some useful search operators for this are:

    • inurl:blog (tells Respona to only show pages that are part of a blog)

    • Intext: (specifies keywords to be mentioned in the bodies of the articles)

    • Intitle: (specifies keywords to be mentioned in the titles)

Let’s imagine that I was pitching an infographic about resource page link building.

    Inurl:blog intitle:”link building” intext:”resource page”

  3. Click on an article and check if they have an infographic that already covers your topic.

  4. If they don’t select the opportunity for your campaign by ticking the box to the left of the title.

  5. Repeat until you’re out of opportunities.
