When running podcast search automations, you have the option to apply filters to refine your search.
The main one is Listen Score - a metric by Listen Notes (which is our podcast data is coming from).
It estimates how popular a podcast is compared to other public rss-based podcasts in the world on a scale from 0-100.
Note: Listen Notes only calculates Listen Score for podcasts that are in the top 10%, so using this filter can significantly reduce your number of results.
After running your podcast search, Respona will also display its Podcast Rank.
This is Listen Notes way to compare all of its podcasts based on their Listen Score.
Remember - if a podacst has no Listen Score, it won't have a Podcast Rank either.
Imagine there are only 5 podcasts called A, B, C, D, and E:
Podcast A has a Listen Score (LS) of 25.
Podcast B's LS is 30.
Podcast C's LS is 50.
Podcast D's LS is 70.
Podcast E's LS is 95.
The higher the Listen Score, the more popular the podcast is.
So, Podcast E with LS 95 is the most popular. Its Podcast Rank is in the Top 20%.
Podcast D, with an LS of 70, is the second most popular, and its Podcast Rank is in the Top 40%.
Podcast C, with LS 50, is the third most popular, and its Podcast Rank is in the Top 60%.
And so on.
